1 What is HiFAQ

4 Does HiFAQ require database connectivity on the server?
No. HiFAQ maintains its own questions and answers archive. Any server capable of running perl scripts will support HiFAQ.

However if required we can integrate HiFAQ into a new or existing database, allowing the aritcles to be stored within that.

5 Are there alternative versions of HiFAQ?
We are soon to release HiFAQ Pro, which will allow users to post questions directly to the FAQ, for a later response from the webmaster. The webmaster can also add additional sub-contributors with restricted write priveleges

In this way, we can be sure that FAQ is kept up to date with the questions most frequently asked by the users.

8 How are Questions and Answers numbered?
Questions and Answers are numbered automatically, so are always in sequence. However, the webmaster can specify any number for a question, resulting in all other questions being renumbered.

This will also occur if a question is deleted - so a rational order can be maintained.

9 Is the HiFAQ FAQ archive searchable?
Yes. Both HiFAQ and HiFAQ Pro include built-in search facilities, though you may choose not to display this feature if you prefer. Search is not enabled on this FAQ - to see an example of the same FAQ with search enabled click here .

An example of HiFAQ Pro with Seach enabled can be seen at Arcadia's website

If you want to integrate the HiFAQ database in a full site search, our HiSearch site search engine can be configured to do this - contact us for more information.

(The full contents of your HiFAQ databases will be indexed by Internet search engines like Google provided that your site has a standard HTML link to the opening page of each FAQ).
