| What
is a HIBAsite? |
HIBAsite
stands for Hibyte Integrated Backend Architecture
Website.
It derives directly from our highly-rated AutoSites
program, making a powerful content management core
system and an ever-increasing range of special purpose
modules available for use in constructing or extending
individual custom built websites. .
The content management system is used, both during
site construction and at any time subsequently during
editing, to develop site structure and add text,
image and other content. Anyone with basic secretarial
skills can develop and edit a HIBAsite.

| Because
the core content management software and modules
share a common integration interface, their functionality
becomes available to the site simply by adding the
module to the program directory - no additional
configuration is required. This means you can start
with a basic site and add further functions very
easily as and when required. |

| How
does it work |
| HIBAsites
is a set of PERL scripts and support functions which
is installed in the cgi or scripts directory of
a site |
|
| HIBAsites
can store this data in a variety of ways depending
what is available on the webserver - this can be
flatfile (available anywhere) or mysql, postgres,
MS-Access, SQL-Server etc. |
|
| HIBAsites
uses page templates to build the site as it is edited.
Wherever possible it writes 'static' pages - a major
bonus for search engine rating and server loading.
The site navigation and sitemap auto-generate simultaneously.
A wide range of navigational formats is supported
- dropdown menus, side popouts, classic 'down the
side' stratified links - this is one factor that
sets HIBAsites apart from most standard database-driven
solutions where very basic navigation is the norm
- another is that it sets few restrictions on site
design… |

| Visuals
can be supplied in any of the common image formats
(JPEG, TIF, BMP etc) and Photoshop, Illustrator,
Corel Draw, Quark etc. Where necessary (e.g. Quark,
PSD with unrendered text) fonts and supporting images
should also be supplied. |

If
HIBAsites is being added to an existing site, we
can derive the visuals directly from this.
Design note: Although
any screen size can be used, we strongly recommend
that you target 800 x 600 screen size and for cross-browser
compatibility the visible width should therefore
be approx 775 pixels |

a site - the steps. |

option to order, and any additional modules
you require. We are happy to give guidance

custom design which we will build, supply
us the visuals. Allow 5 working days for template
construction. We will agree a firm price for
this at the outset. |
